I bought a wireless G router some time ago and was using it with my Mac G4. When I finally got rid of my G4 and bought MacMini I no longer was using the wireless on my network. In fact, the only time I used it was when my Dad would come over and fire up his mac. Although the first time he fired up his mac in my house he said, “Hey, do you have wireless here?” as he was opening his laptop. I told him that I did but I would need to configure his laptop for him. He then exclaimed, “Well, I’m online!” And sure enough… he was–on the neighbors network. They didn’t have it password protected. Tonight I discovered they still don’t. I used to think it was the neighbors who moved away. Now I know–it’s the neighbors on the other side. Anyway, I finally have a use for my wireless network again–I have my work laptop working on my OWN protected wireless connection now. Next I attempt VPN.
Woot!
